Overview

Rotate capital toward whichever sector (L1s, L2s, DeFi, AI tokens, memes) is showing the strongest 7-30 day relative strength. Exit fading sectors and concentrate into emerging leaders.

Setup

1.Track sector-level performance with tools like Messari or Artemis.
2.Rank sectors by 7d, 14d, and 30d performance versus BTC.
3.Allocate to top-2 sectors; pick top-3 names by liquidity within each.
4.Rebalance weekly: trim positions that drop out of the top-2 sectors.
5.Cap any single token at 15% of altcoin allocation.
6.Convert profits to BTC or stablecoins on every doubling.

Max profit

Highly variable — leading altcoins can outperform BTC 5-20x during euphoric phases.

Max loss

Altcoins can lose 80-95% in bear markets; total loss possible on individual tokens.

Breakeven
